Large Texas Rescue A Success!

Amazing LPR volunteers and donors have gone above and beyond yet again and have helped to make the rescue of 54 equines possible, in addition to the 21 that were rescued last weekend. These souls have been saved from torture and an excruciating, slow death. A special thank you goes out to Suzie Taylor and her rescue in Texas for helping to facilitate this huge effort. We are overjoyed with 75 rescues in 2 weeks!

One of these poor animals is named Lucky, pictured above. He was on the land of a kill buyer, but was missed during the round up. After having been missed, he fell ill and hid in the trees on the property. He is a survivor! He wasn’t going to be so lucky, but he can now live up to his name. Suzie feeds him twice a day and he comes to greet her at the gate. Thankfully, he now has a bright future ahead of him, full of love and all the hay he can eat!

What a wonderful week, and so much to be thankful for.

Thank you to everyone who helps to make this work possible!

LPR 2019

It is our mission this year to rescue 200 equine from slaughter, abuse and neglect.

We have our first rescue, a 4 month old mini horse.  This filly was attacked by bees and was stung in the face and eye.  Because of this, she is blind in her right eye. Her hooves are not in good shape, but she is a doll. She is up in Tehachapi and is up for adoption! Please share with fellow equine lovers. Once again, thank you for all the support.

Paint Mares Saved from Slaughter

We are so grateful to say these two paint mares have been saved from slaughter. The photos below are of them walking out of the feedlot to the trailer and FREEDOM!!!

The mares were placed with a nice lady in Idaho. They have lots of land to run on! We will keep you updated on their progress.

Thank you to Cindy and Catherine for helping with this rescue, the adopters, and for everyone who supports and donates to make these rescues possible. We couldn’t do any of this without all of you!

#GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is only days away, and that means it’s time to make a difference. So, let’s take a minute to learn how you can make an impact in the world of Saving Horses from Slaughter.

On Tuesday, November 27th, we embark on our goal to raise $7,500 to help us continue our mission in saving neglected, abused, abandoned and slaughter-bound horses. PayPal is matching donations 100% up to a total of $500,000 when you donate here on the 27th.

PayPal: paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/73809

As a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit, Laughing Pony Rescue relies solely on donations and fundraising to do the work we do in saving horses from unfathomable conditions, injuries, and inhumane treatment. Every donation counts for us, from the funds needed to rescue horses who are heading to slaughter to rehabilitating abused equines.

What most people do not know is that 6000 equines suffer every week. The slaughter truck picks them up and spends 2-3 days on the road with 30-50 horses jammed into the truck. They make sure the holes are small so you caring people can’t see inside. There is no room to move. No food or water. The trucks are packed with foals, broken horses, mares and stallions…what a bad mix. If you could look in, you would not be able to sleep at night. Then there is the final destination… the slaughter house which is just barbaric.

Please look into your heart and donate to Laughing Pony Rescue on #GivingTuesday to help us save horses from this terrible fate.

100% of your donation will be applied to the following:

  • Funds to save horses from slaughter
  • Vet and Farrier costs
  • Hay, feed, supplements

Laughing Pony Rescue is extremely grateful for the generous donations and support in assisting us in our life long mission of rescuing abused, abandoned and slaughter-bound horses.  Because of you we have been able to save over 80 horses from slaughter and place them in their loving forever homes in 2018.  Thank you for helping us to do the work we are so passionate about.

Thank you for partnering with us for #GivingTuesday 2018! We can’t wait to show you the impact your contributions are making!

Thank You,

Laughing Pony Rescue

MEET SAMMY… A SLAUGHTER-BOUND RESCUE HORSE

CONGRATULATIONS
LPR Supporters

With your dedication and donations we rescued and placed over 33 slaughter-bound horses from Moses Lake in Washington in 2017. Many were just yearlings or mares in foal and all deserved a better ending. The picture above is Sammy who was one of those 33. Please check in with us again to learn more about our upcoming rescues.

EQUINE OF THE MONTH

Meet DYNAMITE

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Dynamite is a military donkey. He worked at Fort Irwin and used to carry dynamite to the troops when it was considered too dangerous to send people. When his service was ended he needed to be rescued and that’s where Laughing Pony Rescue stepped in. He is a very very good donkey and we could not imagine the ranch without him. He is very calm and gentle and loves lots of attention. He recently found his soul mate in Daisy the donkey who was rescued from a slaughter house in Texas. Donkey’s are herd animals and need companions.

Sponsor Dynamite Today

DONATE HERE

You can Sponsor Dynamite or any of our rescue equine today through a monthly or one time donation. It costs between $300 – $500 per month per horse to maintain their rehabilitation. Some horses can take years to nurse back to good health after being rescued from abusive homes and slaughterhouses. Laughing Pony Rescue is dedicated to giving the highest quality of care available.
